Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
Our Dinner helps you and your household decide what to cook. This policy explains what the app stores, where, and why.
Without an account
You can use Our Dinner without signing in. Your recipes, kitchen inventory, shopping list, preferences and cooking history stay on your device.
With an account
You can sign in with Google or with an email address and password. We receive your email address and, with Google, your name and profile picture. We use them only to identify your account, keep your private backup, and let household members you invite recognize you. We don’t use them for advertising.
- Private backup. When signed in, your personal kitchen is backed up so you can restore it on a new phone. Only your account can read it.
- Shared households. If you join a household, the recipes, shopping list, kitchen inventory, tonight’s dinner and the people you cook for are shared with its members.
- Notifications. To send invitations and household updates, we store a notification token for your device.
Recipe ideas and imports
When you ask for recipe ideas, import a recipe or scan your shelf, the relevant details (such as ingredients, food preferences, a recipe page or photo you chose) are sent to an AI service to produce the result. We don’t send your name or email address with these requests.
Service providers
We use Supabase for accounts and storage, Google Firebase for notifications, Netlify for this website, and OpenAI for recipe ideas and imports. They process data only to provide these services to us.
We don’t sell your data
We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t show ads.
Deleting your data
You can delete your account in the app under Kitchen settings. This removes your account, backup and household membership from our servers. Data kept only on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Children
Our Dinner isn’t directed at children under 13.
